STARTER: Discussion - what textiles technique would you like to explore...?

Lesson Aims: To continue developing ideas for your theme and to begin developing your technical skills in response to your chosen Textile Artist/Fashion Designer

Lesson Objectives (during this lesson you will):

1. Select a Textile Artist/Fashion Designer to research to inform your own work

2. Be able to explain and demonstrate technical skills in response to Textile Artist/Fashion Designer

3. Create 3 small samples in response to your Textile Artist/Fashion Designer

TASKS/TIMINGS

1. Through research and discussion with teacher select an appropriate Textile Artist/Designer to explore - you should focus on the technique when making your selection

2. Create a minimum of 3 samples in response to your Textile Artist/Designer. These should demonstrate strong technical skills and you must consider the following: 

• Working using techniques/processes inspired by your Textile Artist/Fashion Designer 
• Choice of materials
• Accuracy in colour 
• Depicting imagery/texture/colour relating to your chosen theme

3. Complete a written analysis of your chosen Textile Artist/Designer, if you need it please follow the 'How to analyse work in Textiles' sheet for guidance - you can access it HERE

4. Present the work in your sketchbook

1. Complete all outlined above

2. Work on any areas for improvement given during one to one discussions in sketchbook/concertina
